Under the New York State Preferred Source Program, state and local government agencies can purchase IMA’s full range of scanning, microfilming and related document conversion services through NYSID (New York State Industries for the Disabled, Inc.). Because we are an Associate Member of NYSID, purchasers can acquire these services and gain by simplifying procurement through:

• A single source for document conversion    services that support agency goals

• A choice of document management    services to meet individual purchaser’s    needs

• Relief from the costly, time-consuming    bidding process

• Competitive prices

• Consistent quality and delivery    performance

Moreover, Preferred Source Purchasing satisfies government purchasers’ obligation to comply with the New York State Finance Law’s (Article 11, Section 162) mandatory requirement to purchase approved goods and services provided by people with disabilities through NYSID. NYSID workers with disabilities in community rehabilitation programs throughout the state gain by acquiring marketable skills through productive jobs and wages that promote self-esteem and independence, leading to competitive employment.

In conjunction with this program, IMA is proudly partnered with Skills Unlimited, a vocational workshop based in nearby Oakdale, NY. When providing our services through NYSID, a majority of the work is performed by individuals with disabilities at Skills Unlimited. All work is performed under IMA’s guidance and is subjected to the same quality control standards as if performed in-house by IMA’s document conversion specialists.

NYSID jobs for people with disabilities lead to reduced public assistance costs, as workers become economically independent, and increased government tax revenues from employed vs. dependent individuals. We are proud to be a part of this program.
